A 2D drawing defines dimensions, tolerances, threads, datums, and critical checks. A 3D model helps engineers review wall thickness, draft, radii, undercuts, parting lines, and machining access. Mark the latest revision clearly.
Specify Material, Weight, and Performance
State the approved aluminum or zinc alloy, or explain strength, corrosion, temperature, conductivity, and finishing requirements.
Provide Trial, Monthly, and Annual Quantities
Quantity affects cavity count, tool construction, automation, cycle planning, fixtures, packaging, and pricing.
Explain the Current Mold Status
Confirm whether a new mold is required or an existing tool will transfer. For existing molds share dimensions, weight, shot count, maintenance, known defects, and sample images.
List Machining and Finishing Requirements
Identify drilled holes, bores, sealing faces, CNC operations, deburring, polishing, blasting, powder coating, plating, painting, or assembly.
